Origins Skin Care~

I've never used anything from the Origins skin care line but I had my eye on the Origins GinZing Refreshing Eye Cream and Origins Dr. Andrew Weil Mega-Mushroom Skin Relief Face Cream. So, I did my research online, read reviews and decided to just give it a try. I placed an order before the holidays and it finally arrived today-- along with a goody bag! I got mine from Macys. Watch this space for a full review soon~

Rosena Sammi Bangles~

I love everything traditional and these Rosena Sammi bangles remind me of the rich culture of Pakistan/India. I am sure many of you have heard or even shopped on Hautelook.com (link!) For those who have not, it's a great website to shop designer brands on sale. They have 50-75% off designer brands and the sale starts every day at 11am Pacific time. Hautelook had Rosena Sammi bangles on sale couple of weeks ago so I just had to grab some! I got three pairs. I don't recall the names but I'll link her website below. She has a great collection! The label on the bangles says that they are all hand-made so that's a plus! I really adore and appreciate all hand-made things.

They finally arrived today! eeek! can't wait to wear them <3 here's a sneak peek!

Here's the link to Rosena Sammi's website! Check it out: Rosena Sammi.

Light upon Light~

Never be without remembrance of Him,
for His remembrance
gives strength and wings
to the bird of the Spirit.
If that objective of yours
is fully realized, that is
"Light upon Light"...
But at the very least, by
practicing God's remembrance
your inner being
will be illuminated
little by little and
you will achieve
some measure of detachment
from the world.
Rumi ♥

"Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth.
The parable of His Light is a niche wherein is a lamp—
the lamp is in a glass, the glass as it were a glittering star—
lit from a blessed olive tree,
neither eastern nor western,
whose oil almost lights up,
though fire should not touch it.
Light upon light.
Allah guides to His Light whomever He wishes.
Allah draws parables for mankind,
and Allah has knowledge of all things." 35: 24

Humility~

"Before thee We sent messengers to many nations, and We afflicted the nations with suffering and adversity, that they call Allah in humility. When the suffering reached them from Us, why then did they not call Allah in humility? On the contrary, their hearts became hardened, and Satan made their sinful acts seem alluring to them. (Al-Anaam 6:42-43)

Successful indeed are the believers, those who humble themselves in their prayers... (Al-Muminoon 23:1-2)

Aisha (May Allah swt be pleased with her) was asked, 'What did the Prophet (PBUH) use to do when he was in the privacy of his home'? She replied, 'He use to be in the service of his family'. He used to repair his sandals and sew/patch his own thobe and he would milk the sheep. Bukhari

He also said, "Verily Allah loves the servant who has Taqwah, and he's rich (content), and he's hidden (i.e. not known by the people because of his humility)". Muslim

The Prophet (PBUH ) said: "Whoever possesses an atom's weight of 'kibr' will not enter into the paradise ". Muslim

Mawlana Jalal Al-Din Al-Rumi~

What are your favorite Rumi quotes/poems?

If we come to sleep, we are His drowsy ones
and if we come to wake, we are in His hands
if we come to weeping, we are His clouds full of raindrops
and if we come to laughing, we are His lightning in that moment
if we come to anger and battle, it is the reflection of His wrath
and if we come to peace and pardon, it is the reflection of His love
Who are we in this complicated world?
~Rumi (Movie: The Kite Runner)

Knock, and He'll open the Door.
Vanish, and He'll make you Shine like the sun.
Fall, and He'll raise you to Heavens.
... Become Nothing, He'll turn you into Everything. ~Rumi~

Only union with you gives joy~ Rumi

Don't be fooled by my beauty - the light of
my face comes from the candle of my spirit.

The importance of Dhikr

I usually do dhikr during my morning commute to work. It takes about 30 mins to get to work and I love that I have that time to just remember Allah (swt).

There's never "nothing to do" and we often get "bored" or waste time by just watching tv or simply not doing anything!

Ibn Abbas narrated that Prophet Mohammad (PBUH) said:
"There are two blessings which many people lose: (They are) health and free time for doing good." (Bukhari 8/421)

So think about it before you say "there's nothing to do" or when you're driving or traveling, trying to sleep etc. Do some dhikr. It will brighten your morning, day & night!

"Yesterday is history, tomorrow a mystery, today is a gift, that's why it's called the present!"
